MN 26 Ariyapariyesana: The Noble Search
The Buddha gives his life story on his search.
The bit I liked best was the tiny detail:
“Now on that occasion a number of bhikkhus were sitting together in the hermitage discussing the Dhamma. The Blessed One stood outside the door waiting for their discussion to end. When he knew that it was over, he coughed and knocked, and the bhikkus opened the door for him.”
Even as the boss of all bosses he shows his humility like this. I found it touching.
